Yesterday our Primary 1 and 2 children visited Little Flower Nursery School to experience a Forest School lesson with Mrs Herron! Mrs Herron read the story of ‘One Snowy Night’ around the fire and we then got into groups to find all of the missing hats from the story. The boys and girls then had to group all of the different hats and discuss how they decided to group each of these.
The children then had to pick an animal from the story and find materials to recreate this animal. We had some great discussions about how the children made their animal and problem solving as well as using the words; longer, shorter, bushy, pointy and spiky.
We finished off our visit with some hot chocolate and lovely treats provided by the staff of Little Flower. Our boys and girls had a fantastic day out and can’t wait to see their friends from Little Flower again soon.
