Trout are on their travels!
A big 'Thank You' to David and Frank from Ballinderry Rivers Trust who visited P3/P4 today.
Today, Frank and David showed the children a lovely powerpoint and video which informed the children all about our local Lough Neagh and what fish we can find in there.
Next week, We will be so lucky and privileged to have the honour of welcoming some Dollaghan Trout eggs into our classroom. Over the next six weeks, the P3/P4 children will be given the responsibility of looking after the tiny eggs and watching them mature and develop into Parr. The P3/P4 children will keep the eggs in a cooling tank and will have the responsibility every single day to monitor the changes they see every day, record the temperature of our tank and ensuring our tank is secure and safe. Not to mention, changing the water once a week!
We are so lucky at Holy Family to be given this terrific responsibility, a special word of 'Thanks' to Mrs Gorman for getting in contact with Ballinderry Rivers Trust back in July and allowing our children to enjoy this wonderful experience.
