Our P5/6 children had a fantastic time today at Corr Townland on the outskirts of Coalisland as we took part in an archaeological dig!
We visited the original site of an old pottery workshop at a place called Derrybuoy, near Coalisland and we joined archaeologists and students from Queen's University, Belfast as we explored the grounds of the site. We were searching for interesting items such as old pieces of pottery and we were very successful!
We also got the chance to create our own pots using a special type of clay, which we decorated and took home with us.
Thank you to Sarah, Georgia and the rest of the team who helped us today with our excavations. We enjoyed every second of it and some of us are already thinking about pursuing a future career in Archaeology!
