As part of our WAU topic of ‘Birds and Flight’, Primary 4 and 5 had a busy morning, making their own bird feeders. We took it in turns carrying out each step, mixing up bird seed, cheese and lard. As we have been learning about instructional writing as part of our learning in Literacy, we wrote up a set of shared instructions, writing each step of the process using bossy verbs, connectives and lots of adjectives. We are looking forward to hanging up our bird feeders in our playground over the winter months, and seeing what types of birds we can spot.
