GAA 5-Star Award 2021!!
Everyone in Holy Family P.S. is absolutely delighted to be one of 22 Primary Schools to receive a GAA 5-Star Award this year!
To achieve a GAA 5-Star Award, schools must include 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous Gaelic Games activity per week in a manner that ensures the our children will experience fun, friendship, fairness and ultimately improve their fitness. It is a key initiative of the GAA’s Play to Stay WeLL (Wellbeing & Lifelong Learning) Programme. Our children have had experience of a range of excellent sporting intitiatives this year, including 'Have a Ball', 'Catch & Kick', 'Fun & Run', 'Strike It', 'Go Games Skills Challenges' and 'Go Games'. These have all encompassed elements of the GAA skills we have become so familiar with in Holy Family.
We are just delighted to have received this award! A huge thank-you to Miss Rafferty, our P.E. co-ordinator, and for all the fantastic outside agencies that have came in to deliver their excellent sporting expertise to our children including Healthy Kidz and the Tyrone County Board.
