"Art is a window to the world..."
18th Sep 2024
Today our Primary 6 and 7 class began their study of Victorian art and how the images depicted in the art can tell us things about society in 1837-1901. Our first painting was 'The Pinch of Poverty' by Thomas Benjamin Kennington. The children had fantastic ideas about what life was like in Victorian times for the people in the painting and analysed it brilliantly, discussing life in poverty and what that meant. We talked about poverty now and then and how society has changed/remained the same over time. It was a very poignant, thought-provoking activity and we can't wait to continue studying it. Well done Primary 6 and 7!
